Bolt: A cylindrical rod used to connect two or more parts and requiring tightening. Common hexagonal bolts are used together with nuts or washers to secure automotive components such as engine parts, instrument panels, and suspension arms.

Nut: A circular component used in conjunction with a bolt to receive the tightening force of the bolt. There are various types of common hex nuts, such as cap nuts, flange nuts, and knurled nuts, which are suitable for different fastening requirements.

Screw: One end has threads that can be screwed into threaded holes of other objects. The common hexagonal screw is similar to a hexagonal bolt, but without a handle. The automotive industry also uses countersunk screws, cap screws, flat head screws, self tapping screws, etc.

Gasket: A disc-shaped component used to protect the connected surface or provide additional friction between bolts and nuts. Gaskets help distribute the load of bolts and prevent nuts from loosening.

Pin: A small long rod used to secure or connect two smaller objects, usually inserted into a hole or groove through its head. Common fasteners include split pins and U-shaped clamp pins, which are used in parts such as wheels and braking systems.

Rivet: A rod-shaped object that connects metal plates or other materials together, with one end having a head that can be pressed into the material. Rivets help achieve permanent component assembly and are suitable for connecting two or more automotive parts.

Self riveting fasteners and riveting fasteners: These fasteners are suitable for connecting automotive panels and have serrated bite rings that prevent rotation, providing a one-time and permanent fastening solution.

Double headed bolt: a fastener with external threads that looks like a headless screw (some have heads). Double headed bolts are usually permanent fasteners that are welded onto the parts to be connected, and can be threaded and paired with nuts at both ends.

Clips and fixtures: These fasteners are used to secure and connect different parts, such as interior panels, hoses, and pipes. Clips can be made of plastic or metal, while fixtures are usually made of metal.
